Flame (2004)
This solo piece a photo of which is on the right was the first self choreographed piece Paula performed in the UK, which demonstrated her musicality through the choreography which was closely connected to the music of Bach.
Vortex Dance Theatre Tour (2005)
'Through the Window' and 'Primeira Vez'
The first Vortex Dance theatre toured the South of England in 2005 with two pieces. ‘Through the Window’ (2005) and 'Primeira Vez' 'Through the Window was a piece which was an early expression of Paula interest in dance which has psychological and narrative content. And ‘Primeira Vez’ shown in rehearsal in the photos below is an abstract pure movement based piece. The dancer in the black and white photo is currently dancing with Hoffesh Shecter.
Paula put Vortex Dance on hold in order to tour round the world with Tavaziva Dance in 2005, and then left Tavaziva, in order to re-establish Vortex Dance Theatre as a company in its own right in 2007.
